titian was a universal scholar who approximately lived between 1490 and 1570 in venice. trained and influenced very much by bellini and giorgione , titian has always been known as a great Venetian painter. this masterpiece “ madonna of the pesaro family ” concerning the victory over the turks during the venetian-turkish war in 1502 is most probably titian’s one of the most important and famous work of all.

in primitive societies people were interacting with each other by exchanging gifts. gifts were necessary means communication for society’s system to be able to function as a whole. in the manner of the gift’s reciprocal, they did more than achieving social interrelation; they had succeeded in creating a public act, which were not protected by any kind of regulation but by their desire to display and share their spirituality only by the means of exchanging gifts.

the upper class is forced to invent fashion in order to maintain superiority rest upon an assumed immobility of the social structure. veblen regarded fashion as something nonsensible and exactly because of being nonsensible he said people found the notion of fashion fascinating. for him, fashion was basically a way of demonstrating one’s self in order to articulate his social position as an elite one.

harem suare and heritage cinema

at the level of its visual style and narrative style, there are some correspondences to Higson’s definition of heritage film. the lingering gaze in harem suare exists in the film’s world but does not serve the pictorial landscape, rather it is the rich decoration of the palace, marvelous costumes of harem women, the magnificence furniture or Harem’s architectural settings, the glorious table services filled with world’s most expensive equipments at that time.

graffiti was and still is influenced by a mix of popular commercial culture and inner city economic and social terms. and within the urban multi-ethnic culture of new york in 1980s, basquiat’s greatness was hidden in his extraordinary childish visual language. he had a unique visual vocabulary of symbolic marks and images in his paintings, which somehow reflected aspect of his own life.
